A Letter from the Founder
I am delighted to introduce We Are Everywhere, an accessible platform designed to bring together local third-sector resources across England and Wales. It works as a search engine, helping people find information about the support available within their local communities.
This project is very close to my heart. It brings together my professional background in Mental Health Social Work, my hands-on experience supporting people with complex care needs through running a care business, and my role as a Trustee of a local LGBTQ+ charity. I am truly proud to share a product created with two key aims in mind: empowering people and supporting Local Authorities and NHS services.
- Promoting inclusion and intersectionality — providing a single, easy point of access to a wide range of support.
- Empowering residents — offering a personalised and accessible way to find help that reflects individual needs and choices.
- Supporting Care Act 2014 compliance — helping Local Authorities meet their duty to provide information to residents who may not be eligible for formal support.
- Reducing demand on public services — by improving access to informal, community-based support.
- Helping to reduce waiting times for assessments — by easing pressure on services and enabling earlier access to third-sector support.
- Providing immediate, easy access for practitioners — supporting social workers and other professionals to connect people with resources that may reduce or delay the need for formal care packages, wherever third-sector organisations can offer help.
- Aligning with the 10-Year Health Plan for England — sharing its focus on prevention and community-based care.
Through my work as a Trustee, I have seen that one of the ongoing challenges within the third sector is the difficulty organisations face in connecting and collaborating with one another, which can limit both their reach and impact. Alongside helping people find support, the We Are Everywhere platform also offers a communication space for registered charities to network and build connections. I hope this feature will encourage greater collaboration and help strengthen the sector's ability to nurture more resilient communities.
At a time when the 10-Year Health Plan is being implemented, this feels like an important and timely opportunity to introduce the platform. My hope is that it will make it easier for people to access the support they need, while also helping them feel more informed, connected, and empowered along their journey.
